Marcus Ligocki Jr. is a Brazilian director, producer, screenwriter, visual artist, and executive. In 2022, he released Pureza, a drama based on true events starring acclaimed actress Dira Paes. The film was selected for over 35 festivals across 18 countries, won 30 awards, and is currently available on GloboPlay. In Pureza, Ligocki signed as screenwriter, producer, and executive producer.
Graduated in Social Communication from the University of Brasília (1991), with a specialization in Film & Television Business from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (Rio de Janeiro, 2003), Ligocki has produced seven feature films, all of which have received national and international acclaim. His production credits include:

Beyond filmmaking, Ligocki has played a significant role in shaping Brazil’s audiovisual sector. He led the creation of the undergraduate course in Cinema and Digital Media at IESB (Brasília, 2007), served as Senior Consultant for the Ministry of Tourism’s “Brasília Cinematográfica” project (2009–2010), and was a council advisor to the Cultural Business Incubator at the University of Brasília (UnB).
He was also a member of the Steering Committee of the FSA – Brazil’s Audiovisual Sector Fund (2015–2016), participated in various project selection committees for ANCINE and the Ministry of Culture, and served as market advisor to CONNE – the Audiovisual Connection for Brazil’s Center-West, North, and Northeast regions (2018). Additionally, he was Director of APROCINE (2010–2016), Regional Representative of BRAVI – Brazil’s Independent TV Producers Association (2015), and Curator of the 52nd Brasília Film Festival (2019), where he created the “Território Brasil” showcase, featuring films from all regions and nearly all 27 Brazilian states.
Marcus Ligocki Jr. is currently Executive Director of Baablon Studios, a member of the Production and Exhibition Technical Chambers of ANCINE (Brazil’s National Film Agency), and actively works on the development of funding mechanisms and new technologies for financing and distributing audiovisual content. He is also a member of the Cultural Diplomacy Advisory Board at Instituto Guimarães Rosa, under Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Itamaraty).
